Ey oh lets review.

You aim for something specific imo. You wanna have a very atmospheric track. Piano and strings :)

I believe to start of you should redo some EQ. The piano is sometimes blurry under the strings, while it should be coming from underneath, loud and bright. I thing what you need to do is remove some reeverb and browse trough some ParametricEQ and Flangus presets and see what is best.

At one point ( lemme check ) at 0.52 you bring in a string, which I think is just raw sytrus. I could be wrong. You should remaster it a bit. Filter the strings so the pitches you which to play come out nicely. Stereo enhancer has a very nice preset for strings to make em sound more atmospheric without losing soundquality.

The melody is nice, good chord progression. Altho imo it gets boring after a while. ofc its sometimes hard to make variation in an ambient track.

Overall this was a pretty decent track, but I don't think you should be posting it yet. Try to bring up some mixersettings that make the song brighter then let me know trough a PM. I'll be glad to send you another review.

wow. See, you people are the reason I come to this site :D thanks a whole bunch, this is something i can work with ^^

the only funny thing is, the synth at .52 is accually the same synth as the one that supports the piano from the beginning, its just a higher octave. I agree though, it just doesnt feel right..

the cut off piano sound is done on purpose, i might clarify it somewhat, but the song is practicly based on that muffled sound :) i like it ^^

ill be honored if you'd review the improved version, which will be up asap..

Me like !

Very long and fluent piece

The melodies sounds like you tried you best to make them perfect. The melodies always go with a nice string or PAD in the back. It gives the song a more " finnished " feeling.
You change instruments now and then, which makes sure that it doesn't get boring. I could listen to this for quit a long time without getting bored.

For the mastering * pluggs in headphone * .
Kick is compressed nicely and clicks well. The short synth could use a bit more EQ imo. Maybe some parametricEQ, and delay. I am always a big fan of love philter, but i'm not sure if it would do good in here. The bass is nice. It hums.
If I were you i'd use a harder clap or add a snaredrum for more variation in percussion. and to make it more powerfull.

Overall this is a very good piece. You obv spend more time on it then I would do on a song.

Alright pop up the review

Like you asked me, here is the review.

You seem to use raw samples, coming from sytrus etc. Try to learn to create your own sounds with VST's. It will make your songs more unique. Altho this is not always easy to do when your still learning to fit the song together.
Using preset sequences is not very hard :)

After that. I think the mastering is decent. The strings come nice over the other sounds.
Some percussion would be nice. some ambient drums in the back would do nice.

If you have any questions involving fruityloops just ask me :)

Box-Killa responds:

haha yeah i did use some raw samples, mainly because i couldnt be bothered editing it. It was kind of like, it already sounded how i wanted it to, so I just left it. Well the bass, I did change that, it's just boo base lol.

yeah the brass is a cool plugin i found from vst planet. :D:D. Thanks for the review, im sure ill find some tough questions to ask you.

Yeah i forgot about drums lol. too late now, or unless I make another song :D

Freaking Pro !!!

Heya! If you are interested in making then check out the NG audio forums from time to time. People are always talking about cinematic orchestra.

I'll PM you though an indepth message. :D
Thankyou for the review and score!

220 BPM LOOL

Thats intense. Sounds DnB + Metal indeed. The track is pretty repeating, altho it should if used for a flashgame. So no blame to you.

Pm me when the game is up.

LightKeeper responds:

Thanks a lot man, I'll be sure to pm you whenever he gets the game out. I'm glad you're not taking anything out on me either for the looping. :P I figured it'd need to loop for usage in a game.

I'll be sure to check out your new track, and thanks for the review! :)

I use the same reverse cymbal !

The percussion was all preset. There is a gap between the reversed cymbal and the music. make em flow into each other. The melody is nice, I'd suggest you filter the synth a bit. I think you should look up some perc samples on the internet. If you those you'll have more unique tracks, scince almost everyone on newgrounds uses these.

If you want any help, just PM me.

Thats better scratch then me.

Scratcher is such a hard tool to use. I cant even figure out how to use it. The synths in this are nice, beat is too slow and emty to be called DnB. Put this into hiphop , or speed it up to 180bpm and add more hats.
The smooth bass is very nice.

Pretty decent track

I know that you have producing experience and it shows in this song. Altho I think house is still a genre that you are finding you way in. It still hasn't got that " zenony " feeling that I get on your other songs. The percussion is still basic. Its hard doing interesting things in house with percs.
Keep going, you'll bring up sick house before you know it !
