Got song

... But in the wrong genre. For this song to be drum and bass it should be placed at 180 bpm. I'd call this hiphop or ambient.

The FX made it very interesting and created a certain dark city ambience. The bass, which I think is selfmade, grinds nicely. The sub stands out clearly. Its good to make the percussion vary during the song, it keeps it from getting boring.
I feel its lacking some melody. Altho its possible you inteded it that way. Scince I know your other tracks and they don't lack melody.

Overall it's not a bad track, to bad it's placed in the wrong genre. Mastered well, but could use some melody to go with it.

This is dubstep.

FL presets all over.

You seem to layer up many preset loops from fruityloops. Don't do that. A good technique to start creating songs when your new to this program is to slice beats and rebuild em. You will have matching samples, and it least it will be creative.

Also you didn't master the track.

If you need help on FL ask me. Scince I figure you are pretty new to this.

thanks man i appreciate it

Very Egyptian

Reminds me of Egypt video game tracks, more specific the lethal lava land on Mario 64. Very good choice of instruments. Sometimes the melody sounds a bit of key and the timing sometimes seems a bit weird. I like how you stressed certain notes to create a more humanlike touch. The sitar sounds a tad overpowered at some points. Maybe those notes were stressed to hard.

Overall a pretty nice track. I'd like to hear more of these.

ChrisisD responds:

Thanks man! I never played mario 64 :P But i guess its a compliment ;-) I hear its a bit sloppy every hear and there... And i'll fix the sitar... I'll put another hour into it to make it better! Thanks for your review!

Not bad man

This track is pretty up tempo and relaxing a the same time. What I suggest is that you use some different percussion samples than the ones you are using now. People that don't create music emself won't notice, but electronic musicians will notice that you use basic samples that come in FL. ( At least I think you did, If not that an epic fail for me ).

Melodywise this track has all it needs. Nice chord progression run over with short happy notes. All frequencies have something to tell.

Overall a good track, only thing is the sound of the percussion.

Yeah, your mistake, I use mixcraft 4.5 and Hammerhead drum machine.
So, no FL from me!

soundquality needs improvement

While creating a fadeinn you should create other automation clips then volume. You should create others for filters, distortion, reeverb, delays, .. It will make the intro more intense and keep more intrest.
The percussion is too silent. You should add volume or compress it. Try using some presets if you are not familiar with mastering yourself.
If the synths still overpower the percs, add a limiter to the synths. Cut of the midfrequencies.
The kick sample that you used doesn't fit the genre trance. Try to look for a more powerfull one.
The subbass you use doesn't fit the genre. Try looking for a deeper bass. Make the pitch lower. Add bassboost. Do everything to making it flow right under the percussion

You did a good job on the basic 4/4 pattern. You should add more variation and add some more percs. Make it more intense and powerfull.

Overall not a bad attempt but you need to work on it. If you ever update it let me know. I'll be glad to help you out. With any question regarding music, just PM me.

Nice work

To start I'll say that you should watch the review score instead of voting score. People always bomb you out if jalousy. The better you get the more you'll be bombed. Get used to it.

The synths are created very well and fit each other well. The percussion is punchy and I love it. The beat is more catchy than a regular trancebeat. The bass hums nicely.
Only thing I would suggest is more variation on the percussion. Its mastered very well but it gets boring after a short while. The short progression does the right spot imo.

Overall a good track. Could do with some mastering improvement here and there. Its fun to listen, so good work.

but il be shure to do it and let you know when im done
thansk alot
You made my day xPPP

Here we go

Loving the synths. Sounds very catchy. The bass goes well with it. Its smooth sytrus preset. Its a good preset but imo it needs a sub to enhance it. The high tones on smooth bass don't stand out as much the low ones do. The low ones growl like hell.

To know more about that bass. Check out my tutorial on that specific instrument that I posted in a newspost. I'm not sure if you will learn from it scince this is a nifty track. But its worth if you wanna make this bass growl more.

Overall a fun track. I could actually here someone rap to this.

As always the percussion is orgasmic. Mastered and layed out very well. Nothing to add about percs.

In this track I think your synths aren't what they used to be. I am thinking of the Wizards Final on your myspace ( btw I hate that you removed it from the myspace, iIloved that song, omg that guitar always gets me...). In earlier tracks you are melodic very strong( these mistakes are mine alone), these are lacking a bit imo. Ofc we al know a song doesn't have to have a strong melody to be strong. ( Thinking of Venetian Snares, which I'm sure you will know ).
I feel that you should enhance the synths more to make it sound more orgasmic.

Overall this was a pretty relaxing chilling track as usual.
Greetz Duba

btw is there any chance you could send me " the wizards final " that was on your myspace :p Or are you placing it on an album ?

nubbinownz responds:

its on the album, if you go to my myspace there is a blog post with a direct link to the album haha

pop up a review.

To start of I like how fast this is.

The melody is fun to listen but not exceptional. Within those 40 minutes you even took the time to edit events and use automation.
Fun little chord progression.
Even panning :) I like.

This track is pretty fun to hear. Ofc I'm not sure if you want it to be taken seriously :p scince its done in 40 minutes.

Its fun, might be used in a flash someday.

InvertedScrotum responds:

take it seriously, you popsicle! wsuck my rock...

I like oldschool and 8bit

These songs always remind me of older video games, which I still love to play.

The song
_________

The main thing about 8bits that its mostly based on melody scince you can't add too much effects. So its clear who knows about music and who doesn't. Clearly you do.
The melodies are layed out very nicely. It sounds happy and energetic. The panning effect keeps it from getting boring.
